Writer's block is a challenge. For me, its the left side of my brain telling myself "you better get his done right now so that you can get this manuscript to your editor by Thursday, so focus and get creative". Its exactly the wrong way to try to be creative, because our left brain is not good at it. You have to relax into your right brain, where dates, deadlines, timelines and demands for creativity don't exist. When you get into that zone, writer's block goes away.

Getting your ideas out into the world so that anyone in the future can read them and be inspired by them is extremely rewarding.

Take notice of when you are in the zone. Its hard to notice it because time feels like its melted away. You'll begin writing and then look up at the clock and realize hours have passed. Do your best to return to that "zone". Try to write every day. Keep it as a chain across days and try not to break the chain (something that successful authors and comedians do).

Right now, I'm focused more on the publication of my newest book. However, I've always got multiple things going. This includes a few scripts that have been optioned by some agencies in Hollywood as well as ideas for a few new novels exploring the junction between technology and humanity.

When I was in sixth grade, I remember looking forward to creative writing. Other than science and computer science, it was the only class that I never noticed the passage of time. I loved my assignments and looked forward to them. Fast forward to my professional career, I spent a lot of time synthesizing viewpoints, writing white papers and technical briefs and presenting those ideas. It was then that I realized that I had a passion for storytelling.

I've worked in the technology industry for about two decades. I spent a lot of time pondering, advising and guiding organizations like Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook on the implications of ethical AI and Quantum Computing. I also have a passion for my entertainment industry work which focuses on sci-fi and anime properties. Thus, I decided to combine the two in a narrative that explores a potential future where these technologies are given physical form in the a robotic combat mecha.
