Sometimes forcing myself to write a few sentences can jump start my brain and put me into the mood. If that doesn’t work, I often open another fantasy novel and read a few chapters. I’m usually inspired by other authors, and after twenty or thirty pages, I find my motivation again.

Much like reading an excellent book, writing is my personal escape from reality. Sure, there are days when I can’t even look at my computer because I’m burnt out. But there are days when I open a blank page, step in to a fantastical world, and don’t emerge for eight hours.

I'm currently focused on the second book of the trilogy titled Reckoning of the Sons.
I'm excited to turn the spotlight on the villains and see our world from their point of view. Sometimes it's fun to be bad!

My husband has alopecia and lost all his hair. I speculated that he might have superpowers since chemo, much like alopecia, attacks your hair follicles. (There is no science behind this comment.) I was inspired to write a story with a character who suffered from alopecia, but didn't let the illness define their life. Initially I wrote a short story about a bald druid named Leigh, and from there the story was given life and turned into a trilogy. I’m also a fan of bizarre creatures, and Celtic mythology is chock full of them!
Once I realized who my characters were as people, I placed them into a fantasy world filled with monsters, magic, and villain’s. I love the villains; they have the most fun! The first book is focused on Celtic monsters, but the second and third books will place a heavier focus on the villains and are in the works.
