Update: I'm looking at a release date for this next book sometime this summer. It's going to be called Jett Landry: Under the Gun. I'm very excited about this book. It's a noir style book with intrigue, twists and surprises. Also, if you buy any or all of the first three Jett Landry books, I'm donating 50% of the royalties to humanitarian relief for the people of Ukraine.
Since I just released Volume Three of The Jett Landry Saga, The Fierce Warrior, I have moved on to the fourth book from the Jett Landry universe. This book will be a mystery/thriller/adventure. The protagonist is our own Jett Landry, a little more grown up, dealing with a lot of emotional baggage and trying to find her place in the world after all she went through in the last three books. Many of Jett's friends from the first book series will be in this one, as well as a new, more deceptive and dangerous adversary. This book is the first in another three book series that take place in fictional Port City, New Orleans, Mississippi and Washington, DC.

My cat often disappears in the house and I can't figure out where she went. I have to shake the cat food bag to get her to come out so I'll know she's okay. Other times she stares at the closet. Sometimes she meows as she stares. Often she does this after I give her catnip.
Is there a portal to anther time/place in the closet and, when I'm not home, she sneaks in there and has catnip induced psychedelics adventures? Is that she where she goes, to have these adventures when I can't find her?

I would travel to the Star Wars Universe. Since I was a kid I've been a huge Star Wars fan. I'd go to the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine and then travel to Coruscants

I don't. I take a break, find other things to do. I play my guitars, I read and reread books. I watch movies that get me emotional. That makes me feel like writing again. What I don't do is try to keep writing when I'm frustrated or don't have ideas. I have faith that they will come in good time.

I don't feel qualified to give advice. Just follow your gut and tell the story you want to tell. Write the kind of novel you want to read. That's what I did.

I've always wanted to write a novel, but I waited until I had the characters and their story before I started.

My most recent book started as a short narrative for a local poetry open mic. I wanted to write a film noir narrative kind of thing. Once I wrote it, I wanted to write a story about it. I decided throw the character in the narrative a curve by having him find out he had a teenage daughter from the women he met in the narrative. Then the book became about the teenage daughter (Jett Landry) and her relationship with her dad.
