Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Stephan Oak My most recent book started as a short narrative for a local poetry open mic. I wanted to write a film noir narrative kind of thing. Once I wrote it, I wanted to write a story about it. I decided throw the character in the narrative a curve by having him find out he had a teenage daughter from the women he met in the narrative. Then the book became about the teenage daughter (Jett Landry) and her relationship with her dad.
