Dr. Gary Waddell
I began my career in the arts and shifted into counseling and then educational leadership. My degrees and experience span all of these areas. As I grew into leadership and began to develop some strong beliefs about what made leaders the kind that changed things, I realized that these were informed by my frames of reference as both an artist and counselor. I wrote this book as a kind of weaving of these strands together into a model of leadership that is grounded in humility and empathy and informed by the habits of mind of the artist as a creator and tinkerer. Thus, "The Art of Everything" was born!

I keep a note list in my phone to pop ideas into when I have an inspiration...a story to tell, unique take on a situation, or way that I might organize my concepts. Then, when I am ready to write, I revisit that and it often gets me going!
