I'm not typically into the supernatural, but when I was in junior high a friend and I saw something unexplained. We were in the back seat of the car going into school, and through a break between buildings we saw a white plane on the field behind the school. When we got past the next building it was gone and no one else saw it!

While my wife was pregnant with our first child, we were driving home from a Thanksgiving in Las Vegas. With baby names on our minds, we lamented the fact that there wasn’t a book that listed names of fictional characters, as we wanted to know what heroes or villains had used the name we were considering. I’ll never forget her succinct conclusion: “Write it!” And so I did.
