Gabi Justice A YA contemporary about academy tennis girls. Sort of Gossip Girl, Dare Me, or Pretty Little Liars style. A highly competitive, cut throat world. So fun.
Gabi Justice I'd go to Red London of V. E. Schwab's Shades of Magic. I love London as it is, but with magic and Kell it would be incredible.
Gabi Justice It was The Ring by Danielle Steele. I was in high school. A WWII story with all the feels.
Gabi Justice I don't know. Everything I read is much appreciated. I guess the many Indie and small press authors out there. It's a competitive world. I'll shout your book out Mira - everyone go read the Magick series.
Gabi Justice For Dog Girl, it was the setting. But I'm a character girl. The characters always lead me and sometimes they have a bad sense of direction. My editing process is always navigating the characters storylines into a manageable and engaging plot.
Gabi Justice My children and their friends inspire me. The inspiration for Dog Girl came on a plane while watching the TV show Pit Bulls and Parolees. It was a JetBlue flight where the TV screens are built into the seats. I'd planned to read a book but got sucked into Tia Torres' world of pit bull rescues and thought this would make a great YA book setting.
Gabi Justice This is a hard question. There are so many. Victoria Schwab seems very interesting and her books are all so different. I'd like to discuss her many many worlds. Kevin Hart would bring the laughs along with good conversation. I enjoyed his biography/life lessons book "I Can't Make This Up." And the third ... maybe James Patterson. His career has been such a success and I saw him speak at the SCBWI conference and enjoyed it. Or possibly Julie Buxbaum because her books are what I aim for in mine. Or ... or ... or ... I could go on and on.
