E.N. Crane The dark night raged outdoors, but inside was worse. The calendar still said March 2020 and there was no more coffee.
E.N. Crane Hogwarts and I would probably take over teaching potions. I already work in a basement, at least dungeon sounds cool.
E.N. Crane I've been binge reading Jill Shalvis and can't wait for a mental break to tackle the new Hunger Games prequel.
E.N. Crane I'll let you know when this happens! Right now my characters are talking on an endless loop demanding I write when I'm trying to do things like sleep or answer the phone at my full time job.
E.N. Crane Holding your book in your hand. there is nothing better than holding a world you created in your own two hands.
E.N. Crane Find someone who will read your book who knows about the dynamics of written language. Great writers are often poor constructors of sentences. We get caught in the story and forget silly things like apostrophes and homonym rules.
E.N. Crane I'm currently working on Book Two of the Ampersand Series, Without Direction. I'm on Chapter 9 and the blending of romance with murder is going fairly well.
E.N. Crane My inspiration always starts with a character. The shadow appears first, sort of a vague new friend in my mind. Then one by one, traits get added to the character and it gets louder and more insistent that I tell the story.
E.N. Crane The Ampersand Series popped into my head while I was writing something else. The idea of a girl with a special ability learning of a dog fighting ring and trying to save the dogs led to the first chapter and then it became a matter of telling the story of what your responsibilities are when you know something bad could happen. This sense of moral duty and grey area is at play in the whole series.
