Ciahnan Darrell Mostly commonly Cianan or Keenan, it’s a Gaelic name meaning ‘ancient’.

Some people pronounce it Key-nan, but, but I pronoun it Keen-en.

My parents chose the name because it can’t be shortened into a nickname.

Interestingly enough, my brother’s name is Cyrus, chosen for the same reason.

They didn’t quite think that one through.
Ciahnan Darrell Querying my second novel, Blood At the Root, and writing my third, The Disappearance of Fireflies.

The former novel revolves around and white billionaire's son offering himself as a sacrifice of atonement for America's racial sins, and the latter tells the story of two exiles who fall in love.
Ciahnan Darrell The research, without question. I love tracking down the oddities and information that will allow you to bring a story to life.
Ciahnan Darrell I read poetry, take walks, and hike. I feel a strong body/mind connection, so taking care of one usually stimulates the other. I'll also revisit books that I've loved, and read and read through the years.

And perhaps most important of all: I keep sitting down and trying to write. You don't have to have an idea to write, or to be inspired. Just sit down, and write one good sentence. Work on you craft.
