I got the idea for my most recent book (which is my novel Set Me Free) from a lot of things. I drew inspiration from the books The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas for the main basis of the story and how it was going to go. The rest of my ideas came from my own personal experiences or the things that I've witnessed in the news or across social media about police brutality against black people and racism.

I usually read, listen to music, walk around, or I'll talk with other people and bounce ideas off.

I think the best advice I can give young aspiring writers is to write what you want to write. It doesn't matter what other people think or what's already been done. If you have a story you want to tell then tell it.

The ability to create anything that you want. It's amazing to be able to let your imagination and emotions create something that's beautiful and thought-provoking. :-)

I usually just keep writing regardless and push through it or I'll find inspiration in music, other people's writing, etc.
