I glom onto the creative offerings of others. I love to listen to music, watch music videos, read books, watch movies, and watch television. I've also discovered that repetitive exercise (swimming laps is my favorite) can help clear the mind and break through writer's block as well as move the body.

I am working on book 4 of The Rose Collect, REINVENTION. It is about two people who have become successful adults despite the horrible abuse they suffered during their childhoods. They encourage each other as they heal and even begin to develop deeper feelings for each other--a scary prospect after their last romantic entanglements didn't end so well.

I absolutely love music! For inspiration and encouragement, I make playlists that mimic the action, theme, and tone of my novels. I also watch/listen to podcasts where those recovering from spiritual abuse are given the ability and freedom to safely share their stories and encourage others on their journey into healthy relationships.

All of my books deal with the fallout from spiritual abuse in today's churches. Book one, PLAGUE OF LIES, is all about betrayal due to a lie lived by one influential man and covered up by those in church leadership. Book two, TWISTS, TURNS, AND CURVES, explores the problems of sexism, sizeism, and the little-known issue of economic abuse that plagues those in the lower levels of full-time ministry. My latest novel is the third book of The Rose Collection, NO LONGER INVISIBLE, and deals with the very real problem of harsh and abusive punishment being used in the name of "discipline." My characters' journey into healthy recovery from abuse, despite it's lingering after-effects, is the crux of each novel.
