How do you deal with writer’s block?
Stephen Kronwith I force myself to sit down at the computer and start writing, not finishing until the next chapter is done. Then I print it out. It's usually terrible, but it's there, on paper. I spend the next few days editing and then about a week procrastinating. Getting to sit again at the computer is always the challenge but once I do, I can get the next chapter done.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Stephen Kronwith For my particular circumstances, writing gave me something to get into while cooped up due to COVID. But the best part has been the personal emails from a good many readers who have expressed their approval of Lover Boy (I have an email link at the end of the book). That has been most gratifying.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Stephen Kronwith I'm far from an expert but, if possible, start young. And write your ideas down somewhere - don't expect to remember them years later.

How do you get inspired to write?
Stephen Kronwith Ever since 4th grade I wanted to write a novel. In fact, one day a friend and I decided we were going to write a sci-fi novel called "The Secret of the 10th Planet." We got to my place and the first line came: "10, 9, 8, 7 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, blastoff!" Then we were stumped. As the years went by, it was always in the back of my head to write, but college, medical school and then medical practice always left little time. Now, retired, I can finally get down to it.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Stephen Kronwith Every day during the COVID crisis my wife and I would walk, 3 miles in the AM and then 3 again in the PM. As my first book was going to press, we would discuss what the second should be about. Actually the title, Lover Girl, came first, since I thought it would be a good segue from Lover Boy. After that came the thoughts on who this girl should be and once that was decided, the rest gradually came.
