There's a shortage of mermaid stories that women over forty can relate to. The genre overflows with sweet, wide-eyed teenage mermaids who live in Atlantis. My main character, Parthenope, is a bitter, deeply flawed old soul with a tragic past who lives in present day Capri. So much more identifiable.

If you are self-publishing on a budget, use Fiverr for beta-reading, developmental editing, first-pass copy editing, book blurb and bio writing. Use 99 Designs for cover art.
