Not a clue, I just get an idea in my head and start writing. It doesn't always work out and, as a result, I have several unfinished projects which have not worked out, (yet).

Difficult question because I am an aspiring writer.
1. Don't give up.
2. Don't write for fame and fortune, it rarely happens. Write because you want to, write because it's a passion.
3. Read lots! I read a couple of books a week, I am often shocked by how bad some of the writing is. That inspires me. :-)

As I am a 'panster ' rather than a 'plotster' I often hit a block. When I do, I just leave the writing alone for a few days and then come back to the story. That normally sorts my head out in a positive way.
