Jacob Moon At age 47 I discovered that my birth father was alive, contrary to what I believed for my entire life. Adding to this discovery was finding out that I also had two sisters and a brother that I'd never known about. All of them had grown up just miles from where I had grown up.
Jacob Moon Hello Kathryn.

First, thank you for your interest in reading my book. And, yes, the offer is still viable. I am definitely interested in serious-minded readers reviewing the book. I can offer you a free ebook in PDF or Epub format, in exchange for an honest review on GR and Amazon. I did go through your GR page and browsed a handful of your reviews (very in-depth, I'll say), however I didn't find you on Amazon under the "Tell Me a Story" name, but maybe I was searching in the wrong place. Could you direct me to you there another way?

Either way, please let me know which ebook format is best for you and I'd gladly send it your way, and thanks again for your interest in reading/reviewing 'Furlough.'

Jake
Jacob Moon I've worked for many years in a large county jail. Many times I've wondered about how inmates could possibly escape (and have), and what would happen if they weren't immediately re-captured. When I took an online writing class, one of our assignments was to create a synopsis and rough outline for a longer type of story. I used my jail experience to formulate a jailbreak scenario. Several added elements came to me over time and one day while speaking with a friend about it I decided to sit down and start writing the book from the first word. Seven years and thousands of hours later, Furlough was born.
Jacob Moon The easiest way to inspire myself is to simply come up with an idea that I feel I would love to read. Believing in the message and theme is a big help as well.
Jacob Moon In the early stages of research for my next novel, a paranormal crime thriller. Will soon enroll in my favorite writing contest--NYC Midnight. They run annual contests for short stories (up to 1500 words), short-shorts (up to 500), and micros (up to 100). The prompts range from ridiculous to confounding, but they are always entertaining and really challenge writers to come up with a cohesive story in very limited time periods. Three judges comment on every story, offering praise and criticism. Very fun.
Jacob Moon Some say to write for yourself. Others say to write for an audience.

Do both.
Jacob Moon Making stuff up and entertaining people with it.
Jacob Moon I stop writing until the urge returns. My muse is like a horse being led to water.
Jacob Moon They say human flesh is distasteful to other humans.

I couldn't disagree more.
Jacob Moon I love questions like this. I'd go to a world where you could read a full-length novel in just a few hours. That way I'd get the experience of sitting with a book for what would amount to the length of a movie, while not having to invest multiple days or weeks on them. Imagine reading and actually digesting War and Peace in a single afternoon!

While there it would be my goal to read 1,000 books in a month.
Jacob Moon Pillars of the Earth, a TBA Stephen King book I haven't gotten to yet, an Agatha Christie and maybe finally getting around to Harry Potter.
