Jen Lyon Hi Kelly! I do indeed have a fourth book for Catharine and Alex—it is titled Duplicity, and is well underway. I am hoping for a late 2025 or early 2026 release.
It will be my primary focus after The Colonel's Daughter (Senator's Wife prequel) is released. :)
Jen Lyon Hi Nicole! Thanks so much for reading TSW series! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I do have another novel coming out soon, called The Unfinished Line. I am hoping very much to have it published by the end of June/early July. I have also begun to work out a few ideas for a fourth book for Catharine and Alex. ;)
Jen Lyon Terribly sorry that I am just seeing this, Corinna! So glad you enjoyed book 1. I hope you were able to find Book 2, Caught Sleeping, on Audible. It came out earlier this month. :-)
I am afraid it may indeed get into darker territory, but I promise, there is light at the end of the tunnel! <3
The third book, Whistleblower, will be releasing this coming week.
Thank you again for listening!

BTW, Whistleblower will also make its way to Audible this coming March. And of course it will be with the marvelous Ms. Craden!
Jen Lyon Hi Kym, yes, Whistleblower, the third and final book in the series, is well on its way to completion. It is late in its original anticipated publishing date, but is definitely on the push to be released. :)
Jen Lyon Hi Nanna! Thanks so much for reading! I am so glad you enjoyed the books.
Catharine was a conglomeration of a few things. Her grace, beauty and poise was inspired by (no doubt unsurprisingly) Cate Blanchett. Her powerhouse confidence in business in a field that is dominated by men was inspired by the fictional character of Patty Hewes, who was the main character in a show called "Damages" that aired more than a decade ago. And her kindness, thoughtfulness, intelligence and patience is stemmed from my own experience with my wife, who, aside from not being a billionaire (dang it), has many similarities to Catharine's upbringing and previous long term relationship. So between the three, I created Catharine. <3
Jen Lyon Hi Lexi! Hoping for the third book to be released before the World Cup this summer -- shooting for ASAP. It's over 2/3rds written and now just finalizing last chapters and doing edits before I send it to my editor.
Also, that's awesome your co-worker enjoyed it enough to give you a play by play. How fun!
And that's awesome she knows O'Hara! She's actually one of my all-time favorite players. I have at least four of her jerseys in my closet from various USWNT years and NWSL teams as well. She and Ali Krieger are hands down my favorite defenders who have ever played for the US.
Thanks again for reaching out! And I'm glad you enjoyed it vicariously through your co-worker. :D
Jen Lyon Hi Della!

Thanks for asking! I don't listen to music while I write, because my brain refuses to focus. I actually have to have it completely silent, and built a soundproof office just for that purpose. I envy writers who are able to jam out with a playlist while they scribble. I can't even edit with background noise.

I do, however, listen to music while I muck horse stalls (my primary time I use for thinking and plotting lol). I create playlists for each book and listen to it over and over while I decide what to do next. Songs like "Put a Little Love on Me," "Slow Dance," "Slow Hands," "Insomnia," and "Love Me Like You Do" are some of the top songs that come to mind when I was writing Book One of TSW.

That Rivalry Series win was innnnsane! Kudos to CAN! I won't lie, I love as many of your footballers as I do our own. Jessie Fleming is going to be a GOAT, no doubt. What a bright career she has ahead of her. And I really feel Huitema is going to hit her stride for us at OL Reign this year. Was thrilled when we snagged her up. Your whole team is aces. And I LOVE Bev Priestman.

Cheers again to your outstanding win this week!

Jen Lyon Hi! As of right now, Book Two of the Senator's Wife (working title: Caught Sleeping) is set to be released on March 17th. It will be on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and available again for KindleUnlimited.

And, well -- yes. I guess a few players inspired me for Alex. Namely, Ali Krieger (one of my all-time favorite players for the USWNT) and also a bit of Jessie Fleming, who plays for Canada.
As a side note, the character of Amelia was heavily inspired by a combination of Jess Fishlock (of Wales and OL Reign) and Abby Wambach, the GOAT.

Glad you enjoyed book one! Thank you so much for reading!

LFG USWNT!
