Never experienced it. I have a theory that as long as you are true to yourself, not forcing yourself to fit in a square hole when you are a star peg, you should be fine. I have seen writers put too much pressure on themselves . . . instead of dancing with their Muse they have it tied up and muzzled in the cellar, holding it hostage. Let your Muse sing. Don't worry about the details until the first two drafts are done. Have fun! Stop treating it like you're tiptoeing through a mine field.

To quote Joseph Campbell: "Follow your bliss."
Writing is my bliss. I am truly my happiest doing this.
It is great gig. I can kill off as many characters as I want and not go to jail.

Don't try to be somebody else. In the end, be true to you. Writing will be so much easier when you just let your voice take over.
Study the greats. Pick out those passages that wow you and do an autopsy on them. Figure out what makes them amazeballs.
Don't just read in your favourite genre. Live a little. You want to make your world building feel real, then you better be able to write in all genres. Every page can't be a murder spree or dragon fight.
Don't use big words just to be impressive. If a simpler word can be used . . . use it.
If an editor marks up your submission in red . . . that means they see promise in you because their time is precious. And they just took the time to help you. Once you get over the shock, thank them. They did you a huge favour.

Dec. 23, 2020. I am getting the second volume of Big Cranky ready for the editor. The title: Surge of Power.
I also have the third and fourth installment waiting for their final edits. The first draft of the fifth installment is two thirds done.
I am also working on what appears to be a thirteen book series in the makings. The series title is Fuel. My version of Hell where everybody is somebody or something's fuel. The first volume has been waiting for its final draft for ages. Big Cranky has me obsessed as of late.
I am also working on releasing a short story collection which will involve all genres. I dabble in a little of everything.
I also am working on a vampire novel based on a short story recently accepted by Nightmare Press called "Finch."
Oh, and a zombie novel that has about thirty fragments. It's starting to take shape.
And a few other projects. :)

I have always been writing my adult life in some capacity. I would go further back to when my Mom used to sit outside with me on the front doorsteps while we both tried pronouncing dinosaur names. It was amazing to me such creatures roamed the planet. I would never forget those days with my mom. My imagination sparked around that time and I spent more time in the worlds I created in my head than in the real world . . .eventually I started writing those things down. I would say Grade 5 I started writing stories about me and my classmates. But I really didn't get serious about it until I came across my mother's ribbon typewriter from way back in the day. I never looked back.

The Big Cranky universe started flooding my Muse back in 2014. Started from a deep illustration of a lover carrying his lover who is limp in his arms. He is Death and she is Life. Then fragments came to me . . . spanning into five books that I have been piecing together ever since. Only recently have a few stray fragments from four years ago fit into the series . . . filling in glaring holes in Book 5.
