Writers block happens when I am trying to force something. Sometimes there is nothing there, and I need to be respectful of that. Sitting staring at a screen stressing myself out that I can't make the connection from one bit of the story to the next is a sure fire way to cause myself unnecessary upset and anxiety. I have always found that the best thing to do is put down the thing I am working on, and see what else comes. Sometimes it's baking, sometimes it's doing a bit of online learning, sometimes I just read a book or listen to music, and sometimes a completely different idea wants to be explored so I do that.
