Lux Narayan Its been festering for years. It first took seed at a corporate event, and multiple notes and outlines over many flights. It is also strongly inspired by a childhood game. Everything is connected, I guess.
Lux Narayan I think I always liked writing and especially the clarity of thought it forces upon the author. However, through years of running a tech company, my writing became commercial ($ / leads) and delegated (marketing team). Rediscovering my love for writing in 2020 and writing for the sake of it was one of the best things to happen to me.
Lux Narayan A new tech product company at https://wordsworth.ai ; while I have no plans for a second book, it is taking root. Writing is addictive, I guess.
Lux Narayan Break-down teh process. Writing = vomit draft + multiple edits. Production= language reviews + formating. Marketing= brand + tactical. Most info-sources are online and easily available. The real challenge is getting the first draft of the manuscript out. This needs an outline and discipline.
Lux Narayan The transferability of ideas, and the ability to connect with strangers. It might feel corny to hear oneself say it but there's something beautiful about being able to share ideas that one truly believes can help others.
Lux Narayan I have an "almost daily" discipline of writing 300 words. This is an average figure, and I have a fixed early morning writing ritual at the end of which, I enter my word total into an excel sheet. Every week, I look at the average and aim to keep it at 300+. Some days, the words flow. Other days, 50 is a stretch! That's life. The nice thing is that at 300 words/day, you'll have a 200 page book in 4 months! It adds up.
