I'm currently working on the sequel to my debut horror novel WOLF ANGEL. I envisage the full Amsterdam Occult Series to be 4 books long, which I feel will give me the scope to explore the characters in a fuller way, as well as to keep the plot an ever-expanding creation. Hopefully the sequel, to be called A STATE OF SIN, should be ready for publication in April 2021. This will be approx 100,000 words long, which should work out at around 300 pages.

I read and read and read. Not purely for the fun of reading a good book, but also to learn how to structure a novel: the plot, the characterizations, the pacing. When to add a big twist and when to leave elements to the readers imagination.
I also like to people-watch. To see how people dress, walk, talk, their gestures, how they interact with other people.
Simply sitting in a café and watching the world go by can trigger my imagination and inspire me.

Well I've been a long-time fan of horror novels as well as police thrillers, and I thought to myself - why not combine the two? A police procedural with elements of the supernatural. As for the setting of Amsterdam? It is a city with a dark reputation, dubbed the murder capital of Europe, and the Old Centre seemed a perfect location: lots of twisting, narrow alleyways and nefarious characters. A place tailor-made for a series of horror novels!
