How do you get inspired to write?

Mark Hobson I read and read and read. Not purely for the fun of reading a good book, but also to learn how to structure a novel: the plot, the characterizations, the pacing. When to add a big twist and when to leave elements to the readers imagination.
I also like to people-watch. To see how people dress, walk, talk, their gestures, how they interact with other people.
Simply sitting in a café and watching the world go by can trigger my imagination and inspire me.
