Liz Ford I am working on the fourth book in my series, Removing Thorns. It will be available this spring!
Liz Ford My advice if you are just getting started or don't know where to start? I can only speak from my own experience. Just write. It doesn't matter what you write. Just write. Give yourself permission to step out of your comfort zone and you will be surprised what you are capable of.
Liz Ford Writing has been a surprisingly therapeutic process for me. Because I created a work of fiction inspired by a couple of my real journal entries, the world I have created feels like mine. The characters, the location, and the community being built in my books are near and dear to my heart.

Probably my number one favorite thing is that because my writing is character-driven, sometimes I will be so deeply entrenched in the characters and what they would do or say that they come alive to tell the story themselves. (No, I don't hear voices in my head.) The only way I can describe it is that it doesn't feel like I am involved at all. Mira makes me cry, Devan makes me swoon, Wesley makes me laugh, Ian reminds me how precious children are, and Phil makes me think.
Liz Ford Generally speaking, my issue is finding the time to write rather than figuring out what to write. On the occasion I'm feeling uninspired, I stop doing what I'm doing and work on something else. For example, if I'm stuck on where to go plot-wise, I will go back and do some editing on previous sections. This will often provide me with inspiration.

When I'm stuck because I'm having trouble describing an action scene or a romantic scene, I'll act it out. (Yeah, yeah, I know. Go ahead and giggle.) Because my background is in acting, physically walking through the action or picturing it in my mind as if it were a movie tends to work.
Liz Ford My summer reading? So many things on my list. I just finished re-reading the entire Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn. What's next?
Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne and Confessions of a Jane Austin Addict are on my Libby queue. In my Hoopla queue is The Artist by Elin Peer (Love the Men of the North series). I am thinking of starting Leia Stone's Wolf Girl series as well. Anyone have other suggestions?
