Frances Jones Thank you for the question. My inspiration to write is strongly tied to the belief that I was created to make a positive impact in the lives of others. This allows me to take the focus off of myself and place it on those who will benefit from my messages. As an example, when working in my flower garden, I am reminded of the beauty of life and how important it is to appreciating this gift. This normally bring thoughts to share words of encouragement to uplift someone that could be feeling discouraged. I use personal experiences from my life to uplift others. When I receive responses from those who read my books or comments that they are being encouraged, it inspires me to continue doing so.
Frances Jones Thank you for the question. The idea for my most recent book, "Overcoming the Emotional Stigmas of Infertility: Barren But Not Ashamed" birthed from my over 20 year infertility journey. Although I went through fertility treatments, I was never able to conceive. I suffered through many heart wrenching moments that were kept hidden from the people in my life. Truthfully, it was never my intention to write this book but after I was able to rise above the negativity of infertility in my own life and found peace with never being able to have children, I realized that there were countless others that are yet struggling with the toxicity that is tied to fertility challenges. I then knew that my heartache and experiences were not just about me. My pain turned into purpose which led to me writing this best-selling book.
Frances Jones Thank you for the question. I have several book ideas but have not started working on any of them yet. Currently, I am preparing for the launch of my new television channel and show titled NSpire Together which will be releasing Spring 2021 on the Women Win Network. My vision for this channel and show is "Seeing Life Through the Eyes of Everyday Women One Story At A Time”. The NSpire Together Channel and TV Show allows viewers to see life through the eyes of everyday women sharing their stories to give hope, empowerment and the courage to move forward in life. It will be available on Roku TV and Amazon Fire TV.
Frances Jones Thank you for the question. My advice for aspiring writers is be true to yourself and write from your heart. Write about things that either you have experienced or that is exciting for you. Write to the best of your ability but avoid trying to be a perfectionist. That is why we hire editors. Understand your reason for being a writer. How do you want to impact others? Do you want to inspire people to become a better version of themselves? Perhaps you want people to be entertained? Figuring this out will lead you to your genre. Also think about who your audience will be. When words come to your mind, just record them. You don't necessarily have to know a chapter title for the content. Just capture the thoughts. Later, like pieces to a puzzle, you will begin to put it all together.
Frances Jones Thank you for the question. I love the feeling I get when words began to flow from my spirit that I know will inspire, motivate, and encourage the reader. When I write, I connect with the words on such an intimate level that allows them to flow easily. When I receive feedback from the readers telling me how much my books are helping them, it makes it all worthwhile. I receive the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of others. That is truly the best thing about being a writer.
Frances Jones Thank you for the question. One of the things I do is get to a quiet place, close my eyes, then breathe slowly and deeply. I think about why I am writing the book and the people it will impact. I am always connected personally with the books I write so searching deeply within helps me to focus on the next sentence...not the next paragraph or even the next chapter. Once I receive that next sentence, which may sometimes be in the middle of the night, I immediately record it whether on paper or my phone notes. After that, I notice that words begin to flow.
