I've set aside 'The Chronicles of Deneb' for now and begun work on a new novel. This story follows a band of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers as they encounter the first Neolithic farmers arriving on their traditional lands, exploring the tensions and transformations that arise from this cultural clash.

I actually do a lot of research. From learning about climate change to propulsion systems for space travel, I read and watch as much as I can so that my work (although fiction) has some basis in fact. For my upcoming novel, Frozen in Time, I travelled to the French and Swiss Alps to gather information, find locations for the settings, and get a feel for the local flora and fauna. I also visited the Otzi Museum in Bolzano, Italy in the beautiful Dolomite mountains to learn more about his life. I suppose you could say that travel is my inspiration.

For my current novel, Frozen in Time, I drew inspiration from my childhood dream of becoming an archaeologist. Although that goal was never achieved, I retained a life long love for history, especially prehistory. With the glaciers shrinking due to climate change, bodies are being released from the ice regularly. The idea for Frozen in Time was born. There will be a second book to follow that explores this in more detail.
Regarding my previous work - the series "The Chronicles of Deneb", the inspiration came from my career in the Air Force. I always wanted to write a book about space travel. My last posting had me employed on a base where the school on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Warfare was taught. From speaking with an instructor there, I came up with the idea of a world fraught with a terrorist-created pandemic that led to the escape from our planet on a Space Ark.
