There's something about the magic and wonder of Le Guin's world that bears exploring. And it feels so real, like it could fit into our history and folklore.

I don't really know. I've never been able to distill anything down into something I could rely on to get me inspired. Whether it's with writing or any other creative pursuit, I just get inspired when I get inspired, and that's a real pain in the butt sometimes.

For The Re-Emergence, the story really spun off of an early draft of my upcoming full-length novel, From the Grave of the Gods. I had already written the first draft for that, and when I went back to edit, I realised there was another story in there right at the start that I could tell. I had the idea then of telling it from a different perspective than the one used in the novel, introducing other characters that otherwise wouldn't appear until much later in the series. It was a great opportunity to expand the lore of my Augment Saga.

Currently working on typesetting my full-length novel, From the Grave of the Gods, which will be out towards the end of 2021. Other than that, I'm also working on my next novella, tentatively titled "The Flight of the Aurora" - that's currently in the early draft phase.

Take the "aspiring" out of that title. If you write, you're already a writer.

I've personally found Brandon Sanderson's method to be very helpful for me - power on through and write anyway - especially for early drafts. The aim for those is just to get the story down, because you can always refine it later during the editing process.

This summer I'm planning on reading Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Embers of War by Gareth L. Powell, and Blanche Amour by Charlotte Rose.
