For his day job he works at the parish administrator for his local church, where he also volunteers as a musician. I had already written the first draft for that, and when I went back to edit, I realised there was another story in there right at the start that I could tell. I had the idea then of telling it from a different perspective than the one used in the novel, introducing other characters that otherwise wouldn't appear until much later in the series. It was a great opportunity to expand the lore of my Augment Saga.(less)
