“I remember when I visited the old town of Half a Potato, where Billy the Squid had been stealing candy from the local stores. Slash ‘The Fingers’ Garret who was at the time, the meanest sheriff around, came to me and asked me to squirt Billy the Squid.” Daniel was slightly amused and asked Papa, “Why did the sheriff ask you?” Papa didn't hesitate with an answer, “Sheriff Garret, stood six-foot-tall and dressed in denim jeans and a checked shirt. His long pointed nose was beneath his brown cowboy hat, above which were two glaring green eyes. Most often, Garret was unshaven, but this day his cheeks were as soft as a baby’s bottom.” Papa explained, before he continued, “You see Daniel, he had his fingers all bandaged up after he tripped over his shoelaces; fell into the dirt and a horse stood on his fingers.” Daniel laughed at such a thought. Papa raised his hand and said, “Garret knew no one, but no one was faster with a water pistol than Papa — so, I marched over to the Sarsaparilla Saloon and called Billy the Squid out......
