The idea of my book, Chemistry with Kismet, quite literally came from asking my Amazon Echo Show to play Celtic Instrumental music, Enya coming on the Echo, and everything fell into place from that point forward. For more on that, check out the book!

Once I began committing myself to writing regularly, I found inspiration in my own self. I also find that doing something creative, making jewelry and crocheting, pulling tarot cards, blogging, and my podcast are all ways that keep the flow of creativity moving through my energy field and down my hands.
There are times when I know the inspiration that I find comes directly from my higher self or from God, helping me to find the title or the initial words to get out the thoughts in the right way. However anyone chooses to view it, for me there are so many interacting forces working in harmony with me to help me keep moving forward, right alongside my own sense of self-worth. I find myself inspiring, and not in an egotistical manner, but because I know how far I have had to crawl myself out of, how hard I have had to work to get to where I am, and I know where I came from, and to see myself get to this place, to who I am now, is an inspiration for me to keep writing because it fills my soul.

I am currently working on rest. There is a downtime space that is needed after the work that is put into for writing, editing, formatting, editing, crying, editing, giving up, editing, and then throwing up the red flag and letting someone else look, read, review, edit, and send back to you. To go down the self-publication route, there is a lot of work to put in, but more than that you have to be dedicated and assured that you know this is something you are meant to do because you feel that fiery passion within your heart and soul. Let yourself flow with the process, do the work knowing that you are able to do so, but when you are tired, when you reach each accomplishment along the way, give yourself permission to take a break and rest as you need to.
After that, I have a couple of follow up memoirs planned to talk more about the first book and it's impact after writing on my life, as well as different aspects of life.

The first piece of advice I have is actually hand-me-down advice from Brian McDonald: if you write, you are a writer, if you want to be an author, you are an author. Stop calling yourself aspiring and call yourself what it is that you want to become. Step into that role in your mind and heart and then shine it outward for the rest of the world.
The second, do not beat yourself up on the journey to publishing. There are always going to be challenges and hardships. There will always be hurdles. Persevere, be persistent, and push forward. You are the only one that limits what you are capable of doing and becoming, and if you decide that you are limitless, your life will start showing you just how accurate that truly is.
