Stephanie Kline Is this even a question? Who wouldn't choose to go to Hogwarts and befriend Harry, Ron, and Hermione?
Stephanie Kline Several! I'm always reading at least two books at once. Currently reading Nora Roberts' summer novel, "Legacy". Some others on my list that I'm really looking forward to are Lucy Foley's "The Hunting Party" and B.A. Parris's "The Therapist". Also can't wait for the seventh installment of Lisa Kleypas's "Ravenels" series, "Devil in Disguise."
Stephanie Kline There's not one specific idea that sparked WILD HEARTS, and I plan to write a blog post about all the various sources of inspiration that culminated in the story.
The Montana setting was one that I've always wanted to write, because I have a fascination with that region of the country.
Horses were always going to play a role because they're a huge part of my life ("Write what you know," and all that).
My father-in-law was the inspiration behind my heroine's father, with the "ranch life" vibe coming from his real-life cattle operation.
Nothing in particular inspired Dustin and Cara's relationship, but I liked the idea of coming back to someone you had loved as a teenager. The angst and excitement of a second chance at love was a romantic element that I really enjoyed exploring.
Stephanie Kline My biggest focus is a nonfiction book that I'm writing for Pen & Sword Books UK. It's a biography of King Edward VI, and while it's been surprisingly fun to write, it's also extremely labor-intensive because of the amount of research going into it. It's a long process - taking much more time than my novel-writing does.
I'm also working on my first-ever attempt at historical fiction. It's a Tudor novel set during on the most tumultuous decades of Henry VIII's reign - the 1530s. I hesitate to say too much about this in case nothing ever comes of it, but I'm really hopeful that I finish it and have the opportunity to publish my first Tudor novel. I'd like it to be the first of many.
On a contemporary note, I have a manuscript that I've been editing for the past few months, as I plan to make it my second published contemporary romance/suspense novel. No timeline for that as of yet, but I hope it will be finished and ready for the world before (too) long.
Stephanie Kline Everything inspires me. Plots, characters, and settings come to me in the strangest moments - like when I'm doing dishes, or eating at a restaurant, or taking a shower. Once an idea's in my head, it's dying to get out of there and into a Word document, so I'm motivated to write every single chance I get. My biggest issue is that I often have several ideas percolating at once, so I struggle with staying disciplined and focused on one project at a time. (If I was better at that, I'd get books written a lot more quickly!)
