Ever since I could hold a pencil, I've dreamed about being a published author.

In 2011, I started a blog and website called The Tudor Enthusiast, where I write about the people, places, and events that make up the fascinating world of sixteenth-century England (and if that sounds like something you might be interested in, you can check it out at www.thetudorenthusiast.weebly.com).

I grew up in Northern Virginia, and still call this beautiful part of the world home. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from George Mason University, and a Master of Studies in Modern British and European History degree from Mansfield College, University of Oxford. When I'm not writing, I'm either working (yes, I have a day job), cuddling up with a boo

It's a biography of King Edward VI, and while it's been surprisingly fun to write, it's also extremely labor-intensive because of the amount of research going into it. It's a long process - taking much more time than my novel-writing does.
I'm also working on my first-ever attempt at historical fiction. It's a Tudor novel set during on the most tumultuous decades of Henry VIII's reign - the 1530s. I hesitate to say too much about this in case nothing ever comes of it, but I'm really hopeful that I finish it and have the opportunity to publish my first Tudor novel. I'd like it to be the first of many.
On a contemporary note, I have a manuscript that I've been editing for the past few months, as I plan to make it my second published contemporary romance/suspense novel. No timeline for that as of yet, but I hope it will be finished and ready for the world before (too) long.(less)

BY DESIGN – Chapter 9

Over the weekend I was made aware of a major formatting issue in BY DESIGN. There was some repeating of text early on in the book, as well as chapters 8 and 9 being identical (with no *actual* chapter 9 in the book).

I’m mortified that this happened, of course, but I take full responsibility for not reviewing the files adequately before publishing them. Issues like these should have been caught by

This is without a doubt one of the best books I've read so far this year. I absolutley adored this retelling of the Book of Hosea, and the sweet, sometimes heartwrenching romance between a fallen woman (Sarah) and a righteous, forgiving, and God-fear ...more

Diana Gabaldon
“I will find you," he whispered in my ear. "I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest."

His voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, and his arms tightened around me.

Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well.”
Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber

Jane Austen
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Gaston Leroux
“If I am the phantom, it is because man's hatred has made me so. If I am to be saved it is because your love redeems me.”
Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera

Nora Roberts
“You can fix anything but a blank page.”
Nora Roberts

Nora Roberts
“I do not feel obliged in my reading. I read to be entertained and to relax, and to go into another world, not because it's good for me.”
