I had originally planned to write a book on contemporary politics and the public. I realised it would get very serious, very fast and there is enough insight into bad things we feel helpless about. I wanted to write something that would provoke thought and allow contemplation without distress, and the whole thing seceded to the world of science fiction and never looked back.
Vidyut Gore
The news. I took my thoughts and seceded to the world of fiction.

Ideas build inside me till they explode to the page. It is all about ideas. Thoughts. Ideas about how a person could be, how a place could be, what a problem could be that gives insight into a world, what a solution could be that makes the characters shine. Reactions to things happening in the world. Philosophical contemplations. Everything inspires me to write, lol

The sequel. It is titled "Terminally Immortal".

Keep writing. That's the only way to get better at it. Keep revising till you feel satisfied. I am not a very experienced author, but I don't think there is any such thing as writing perfect the first time around or tenth. It is done when it says what you want it to say, how you want it to say. Keep editing till you get there. Read what you wrote. If you find your eyes glazing over and you're skipping parts of the story, edit them till you enjoy reading.

Creating characters I'd like to meet, creating worlds with elements of fantasy that are consistent and feel real as you wade into the book.

I don't suffer from writer's block - at least how it is commonly understood, but then I don't have very high standards for drafts as long as they tell the story. The rest can be fixed. I usually edit my work several times till it "rings" right. Occasionally I don't know how to proceed, so I just write whatever comes to mind, which is usually awful. But writing it lets me see what isn't working, and leads to what is. I'm probably not a good person to answer about writers block. My first novel was 140,000 words, after taking out anything that didn't need to be there. The second is headed the same route. I like writing complex stories.
