Hmm... I'd say this next book is very different from the first book in that there's no post-apocalyptic event that has to be dealt with. However, the main character in a way does have to adjust to a new way of life, just like Alice did. She's recently transitioned into retirement after serving as an "asset" for a government subdivision for many, many years, so there's an adjustment for sure. That's where the similarities end, though. I can tell you this, the mc does make left turns in this book.

Since my earliest memory of writing was writing plays when I was in the third grade and my teacher letting me put them on after lunch, I can’t pinpoint what the inspiration was. I loved, loved to read so that was likely it. The feeling you get when you’re pulled into a story, and the story stays with you—I guess I wanted to be the one creating such stories too.

Another work of fiction nearly done and I’m super excited about these new fun characters.

Just write and write some more and know that I’d you don’t like what you’ve written, it just means you’re not done working it yet.

I reverse outline, as I don’t start with an outline to begin with. It’s more like word dump. So if I start to slow down or stop writing, I’ll go back through and outline the scenes on stickies and that usually triggers me to be able to continue.

Velaris. I know, I know. I would just hang out, eating and drinking my way through the city.

The mystery of why I tear up every time I get the hiccups. Every. Time.
