Two things, that when they intersect, inspire me to write. I am a community listener. I’m always observing and trying to make sense of the world around me. When I see an area that I think needs some serious improvement, I’m inspired. I have a two year old daughter and a baby on the way. Thinking about life lessons and the positioning of their heart for others and the world around me is inspiring. When I can create a story that hits both of these, addressing societal need and creating a message I want to share with my kids, is what truly sparks my drive to write.

The concept and impact of cultural mismatch is deeply important to me. When people may fear or misjudge others based on cultural differences. I am hoping this book asks the questions, what do I really know about others? Why do I have the reactions I do to those who are different than me? Once we can engage is this type of self reflection, it is my hope, we will open ourselves up to understanding others first rather than judge.
I also have received feedback that this book speaks to social anxiety as well. I would like to explore that concept more as social emotional health of kids is essential.
