The pandemic afforded me the time and opportunity to get serious about a life-long dream of doing some writing. The impetus for my series - THE RUBICON RIVER SERIES - stems from my personal experience of breaking my back in a sporting accident thirty years ago. I was operated on in my hometown, Indianapolis, by a surgeon who was - at the time - the head of the CART auto racing surgical team. I thus spent six months in rehabilitation with injured drivers and was fascinated by their fearless obsession to return to racing after horrific accidents.
