BTW, Octavia, a black woman sci-fi writer, used to get up at 3 am before work in order to write.

Promoting Riddles Island and advocacy for nuclear power as the fastest way to decarbonize the planet. The climate crisis is here NOW. We are losing ground every day. I hope the post-apocalyptic Riddles Island is a way to wake people up to global disasters that are outside of our immediate tribes and insulated American life, for people with sufficient income to think outside of survival TODAY.

The idea for "Riddles Island" came to me when I was feeling overwhelmed by child care and imagined a different way for children to be raised.
I also abhor the practice of each and every person declaring their PRONOUNS. I have a hard enough time remembering people's names, much less what pronouns they want to use.
Global access to fresh clean drinking water is a huge worry for me, as well as climate change. I managed to weave these and many other modern crisises into Riddles Island.
