Hi Richard - No, I don't think there needs to be suffering for there to be joy. But certainly people's senses get acclimatized to their condition such that a small annoyance for you or me could cause a billionaire suffering, or likewise something that would barely raise the eyebrow of a billionaire might bring you or me immense joy.

Thank you! Woe to the Victor has a plot and characters that would move onto the screen easily. I have always been really interested in how adaptations are done from a writing mechanics perspective, so would really love to see what another writer might play with if given the chance.

Hi Todd! The Galileo has a complete plot where the main conflict is resolved at the end of the novel. However it was originally planned as the first part of a series which would be linked together by characters and setting.

Woe to the Victor had an odd origin as it started off as a writing exercise. I wanted to write a prolonged action scene and started growing the idea out from that. Normally I'm much more of an outliner, but am really excited about the results (though it took a ton more revisions than any of my other works).

I have two books on the go right now, Woe to the Victor is in the final stages of editing, and the currently unnamed work is only half written.
Woe to the Victor is a space combat thriller that starts off a handful of hours after earth's destruction at the hands of an alien race. A handful of survivors are left to pick up the pieces and find a way to save mankind.
The unnamed book turns time travel novels around on their head. The main characters are stuck on the outside of a time loop, fighting against an evil time traveller. This evil time traveller didn't want to go back in time and kill Hitler - he wanted to help Hitler.
