Nadia Davis Meditation. Intuition. I go to my "happy place" spot in my home, still my mind, and literally listen for guidance. It comes, it always just comes. Whether the answer is to hold off, continue, or listen...it always comes.
Nadia Davis I am currently provide Live Healing Chat on Instagram Tuesday nights at 8pm PST, healing yoga on Thursdays 9am PST, as well as readings from my newly released memoir throughout the week on social media. I am also doing live interviews with the professionals that helped me along my road to recovery, including two MFTs that focus on mind/ego work and trauma therapy, as well as my kundalini yoga spiritual mentor. I am also working on a followup book regarding both the impact of addiction and mental health struggles on families as a whole, but also how there can be a beautiful learning from it to parent more authentically, improve awareness in our children, and ultimately heal and grow even more.
Nadia Davis Just start...just start writing. Whatever comes out, let it come. You don't have to know the order before nor have the entire thing organized. It will come together as you write and find "full circle" ah-ha moments. You will be guided by your intuition. Also, make sure to keep a little notepad in your car, or use voice memos on your phone, when you have an idea or realization while out an about, on a long drive, or randomly while listening to music, etc. Those can be some of the best inspirational moments.
Nadia Davis The best thing about being a writer is having a positive impact on others lives by having the guts in vulnerability to openly share about my past pain and struggles, thus giving a forum for others to feel safe and get past shame. It's an amazing experience to hold that space.
Nadia Davis I surrender to it, get up from my writing spot, talk a walk, meditate, do chores...and just let my mind process. It's ok to get writers block. The inspiration and full circles always come just at the right time.
Nadia Davis I would travel to the fictional book world of Harry Potter and take my three sons with me to explore every part of the land, schools, teachers, and wizards. I would most certainly follow their fascinated lead and support them along every awesome journey. ;)
Nadia Davis Every chapter of my memoir could really honestly be material for an entire book. It was a long, arduous path of recovery from trauma, addiction, chronic pain, and mental health issues, and there are new learnings everyday. In addition, my memoir includes my father's heritage story, which is quite fascinating and inspiring, plus a criminal innocence story and fight for the freedom of Arthur Carmona. To answer your question specifically, the mystery in my own life that could be a fiction plot would definitely be having experienced stalking, exploitation, blackmail, and assault at the hands of the same man who was never prosecuted. Super interesting story it was very difficult to recover from.
