Hi! I was wondering if you'll have any speaking/meet-and-greet/signing events in or around Boston for your next book? (i mean "scent of a garden")

Namrata Patel Hi Ruchi -

Yes! There are a few committed and some in the works. I'll be at the Newburyport Lit Festival April 28-30. I'll also be at the Women's National Book Association conference in Boston on June 3rd. And I'm hoping to do an event/signing at Porter Square Books in August.

I'll keep my website updated for any other events that I add. Hope to meet you at an event.

I loved the book! After I read it, I looked at your name. I had a student with same name in 4th grade in a school outside of Atlantic City NJ . I look at the pictures, and the smile is similiar. Do you remember having a tea party after we read Mary Poppins? You and a friend washed the teapots out for me afterwards. At any rate, I will be looking for the next book. Thank you Mrs C

Thank you so much for enjoying this book. Sadly, I was in Hoboken, NJ for fourth grade where we did not have tea parties or read Mary Poppins. Another Namrata Patel was very lucky to have you as a teacher.

How do you get inspired to write?

Namrata Patel Deadlines. Either self-generated or committed, for me, it's easier to know I have a timeline. Otherwise, I'm an excellent procrastinator.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Namrata Patel Finish. Whatever you start, whether it is a scene, a chapter, a poem, a short story, a novella, an essay, or a novel, get to the end. Then you will know that you can write.
