Hi Marin,
Thank you for the question! :)
I believe that everyone should be free to express themselves in whatever way they choose, as long as it doesn't hurt or upset anyone :)

I'd definitely go to Hogwarts and declare my undying love for Severus Snape.
I know what you're thinking, but I've been in love with Alan Rickman's adaptation since I was 6.

I'll never forget the day that I witnessed my childhood friend, Ellie, get killed by a drunk driver while we were playing chicken in the road. But, the thing that really sticks in my mind was how her body clawed its way towards her screaming head afterwards.

I have two methods for writer's block, depending on the time of the month.
If it's near the beginning of month, and I've been paid, I tend to drown my sorrows with a couple bottles of cheap rose then drunkenly babble my way though the last few pages I've been working on.
If it's towards the end of the month, I sit and wait it out - either I get paid and can proceed with my first method, or it disappears on it's own.

I love that there's no set template for it - you can write whatever, whenever, wherever and however you like.
And, as an added bonus, you get to escape to your own reality when life gets a little hard. I honestly don't know what I'd have done over the past couple of years if I hadn't been able to lock myself away and write.

I think the best piece of advice I can offer is: Don't focus on what every other writer is doing, and don't worry if you're not doing the same thing.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that there are thousands of ways to tell a story so who cares if yours isn't like anyone else's?
Do you want to write a 2nd person story in the present tense? Go for it!
Do you think a 1st person thriller in the future tense would be epic? Take a chance!
Follow the story wherever it goes, because you never know... maybe you're the person who is supposed to write it.

As weird as it sounds, it usually starts with a shower.
There's something about being trapped in a glass cubicle for ten minutes with nothing to do that tells my brain to start bombarding me with random ideas.

The idea for 'Waning' came shortly after a conversation with my fella about 'Twilight'. I absolutely loved the series when I was a teenager - to the point where my friends and I spent every lunch time writing a fanfiction series called 'I'm a vampire, get me out of here!' - but I've lost some of my adoration for it as I've grown old and started to question a few things.
The thing that my boyfriend couldn't get over was vampires sparkling in the sunlight.
I tried to defend the creative choices made - "Do you know how hard it is think of new ideas for something that's been done at least a dozen times before?" - but the only positive thing that came out of the conversation was the belief that maybe I could do it.
The next day, on Friday 23rd June 2017, I began writing 'Waning'.

I'm currently working on 'Waxing', the second novel in 'The Lunar Phases' series - I've been drafting it on and off for the past few months though I am aiming to have the first manuscript finished by the time 'Waning' is released on Monday 17th October 2022,
