Of course you were talking about the Manor House. It's my place to apologize. I'm taking care of my husband after his stroke and my head isn't where it should be. I'm not sure about the time line of the Manor House series, since I wrote them about twenty years ago, but I believe you are right. You'll get a clearer picture with the last two books. And if the last book seems rushed, it's because the publishers ended the series before I was ready, and I had to beg them to let me change the ending. Thanks again for writing!

No timeline, Susan. I wanted to keep the books in the Edwardian era. So time pretty much stands still in the series. Thanks for asking, and for liking my books!

Hi Rhonda,
Oh, how I wish!!!! I would love to see the Pennyfoot mysteries on TV! And you are right, Jim Carter would make a perfect Baxter. If I ever get the offer, and I'm always hoping, I will definitely suggest him for the role. Thanks so much for asking!

Hi Nora-adrienne,
You're probably wonderng who the heck I am. I just saw your question. Sorry about that. For some reason they haven't been reaching my email. I'm not sure which book you're referring to, but if it's the Merry Ghost Inn mysteries the next one will be out late next year. Thanks so much for writing, and again, I apologize for not anwering you before this.

Hi Laura, I had no idea the books weren't available in the U.K. I'll definitely look into this and see what can be done about it. The problem is that the Publishers still hold the rights to the last seven books in the series, but they should be releasing them for the Kindle in the U.K. I'll find out what's going on and I'll get back to you.
Thanks so much for letting me know,
Doreen

Hi Christy, At the moment I have no plans to write another one, but I learned long ago never to say "never," so perhaps sometime in the future. Thank you so much for enjoying my books!

Since it's a murder mystery, certain things are a given - a dead body, suspects, motives, clues, etc. The setting came from my love of the rodeo. I hadn't written about one in a long time, and when I saw an ad for one in the paper I decided to set my mystery around one. The nice thing about writing a series is that a lot of things are already in place - the major characters, the background, and the history.

I'm not sure I get inspired. I write, therefore I do. If I have a contract, I have a deadline, and if I don't write a certain amount of words every day I don't make the deadline. I pride myself on making them, and out of sixty- three, I've only missed four - all because of health problems.

Right now I'm taking a break. After writing sixty-three books in twenty-six years, I need time to recharge.

Never give up. I know of so many world famous writers who were told at the beginning they'd never be published. They went on to prove how wrong those doubters were. All it takes is discipline, determination and fingers on the keyboard.

The daily commute...or rather, the lack of it. No, seriously, the best thing about being a writer is the fans. I've had some wonderful Emails and messages that really make my day. My readers are wonderful, and I appreciate every one of them.
Kate Kingsbury
I don't have time to have writer's block. I work through it, throwing words at the computer until something sticks.
