HI William, thank you for the follow-up. Good news and bad news ... good news is that Book 3 is in the process of being written, it will definitely happen, the bad news is that will be a delay, as I am in the process of a) finishing off my job in New Zealand in the next two months b) having to find work in the UK when I get back and c) I'm not happy with a good percentage of what I've written for Book 3 so far, so it's getting a bit of a major revamp. If you know anything of the specific period coming up, it's that it's fairly chaotic and Zosimus one of my primary sources, is a bit rubbish and inconsistent with his timelines, and Synesius the eye-witness source dresses everything up so much in his allegorical tale of Aurelian and Caesarius/Eutychainus that it's hard work. So a fair bit of literary skulduggery is required to make the timelines work and keep things consistent, and that is causing some issues too. There will be a Book 3 which may morph into a Book 3 and Book 4, and I'm hoping a Book 5 and 6 too, plus a few short stories, which have popped into my head... Thank you again for the question, sorry I can't be much more specific, but I would hope that Book 3 will be out mid 2026 (I did plan for it to be out late 2025!)

Book 2 of "The Guardians of Byzantium" of course. The first book was the scene setter, the preface, the teaser. There is just so much to write about in Book 2 I'm having to be careful about the number of pages and maybe Book 2 might morph into Books2 and 3 ... We'll see how Hunulf and Co get on chasing "the woman", what does Eutropius do next? How does Alaric cope with being in charge of a Roman defense force... and what is Anthemius doing all this while? We'll meet a few new players too. I'm overwhelmed by some of the great reviews book 1 got, so I'm working hard to ensure that Book 2 does not disappoint!
