I absolutely love meeting the people who buy the book. I can't believe all the stories I have heard about why they liked it and who they are buying it for. I love it when elementary teachers recommend it too - that makes me feel like I have created something good for children. My favorite story was when a woman who had recently lost their family dog said she had really needed to hear me read the book at story hour because it included a part about a rainbow, and her dog had crossed the rainbow bridge.

Try your hardest to find an agent! It's a lot more cost effective, and you don't have to organize promotion.

I'm currently working on promoting Lucy the Lake Dog at schools, book stores, children's stores and gift boutiques. I'm also working on the next book in a series of Lucy books.

The book is based on the real-life adventures of our lovable chocolate lab, Lucy. She loves everything about the lake. It's definitely her happy place.
