My strategy for solving writer's block involves a lot of thought in trying to analyze the problem. Usually what stops me is if don't like something about the story. In the current work-in-progress, I didn't like the main character and couldn't relate to him. So I had to figure out a way to reconnect with the character.

I have two stories in development. In one of them, I am about 30 thousand words in to it. In the other, I have an idea and a few scenes written.

Tell the story over and over again until it becomes second nature. Storytelling was an oral tradition before it was a written one. Practice it and then write it down and develop it further.

I had trouble finding books that I wanted to read. There are only a limited number of books from my favorite authors. To that, I've always loved stories and storytelling. My first story idea started back in 2000 while still in college. But my recent inspiration was driven by my wife who encouraged me to develop stories after she watched me edit course material. I apparently enjoyed it so much that she felt it would be good for me!
