I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?
Wendy Soliman Do it because you want to and don't be put off by the thought of failure. Prove something to yourself by producing the best story that you possibly can, for your own satisfaction. If you believe in it, others will. Good luck!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Wendy Soliman I grew up literally on the doorstep of Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. It was Queen Victoria's favourite home and the placed where she died. I guess I absorbed the Victorian vibes by osmosis and have always been fascinated by the period. Bringing it to life through my stories is an absolute pleasure.

What are you currently working on?
Wendy Soliman The second in my Riley Rochester Investigates series, set in Victorian London. Riley is an inspector in the newly formed Detective Department at Scotland Yard. He's also titled - Lord Riley - a marquess's younger son, so he's torn in many respects. This one is about a murder in a brothel! Everyone thinks Riley won't make much effort to find the killer of a prostitute, which just goes to show how little they know him!
