The birth of my first son inspired me originally, my kids have given me ideas in the past, as has Kelly, my wife. But sometimes, having always suffered from nightmares, I will come up with an idea then. Unoriginal, I know, but the honest answer. Mind you, my first serial killer book was inspired by Kung Fu Panda, so there you go!

Having someone love or hate a book you have written is the best feeling! The fact someone felt such a strong emotion either way is so humbling and really is wonderful. I feel honoured that anyone takes the time out to read something I have written

It depends on all honesty. Sometimes a random idea will come to me when watering the garden, sometimes my kids will break my mental deadlock if I discuss it with them. I think sometimes you need an alternate perspective to see your way out of it

I formerly worked in Infection Prevention and Control, so that career combined with a love for John Carpenter and David Cronenberg and the idea for 'The Warmest Place to Hide' just seemed to evolve naturally.
