Ian MacKenzie In the autumn of my life, when the hair was falling and eyesight failing, I decided to become an author.
I wrote my first novel and then went in search of an honest and reliable publisher.
Ian MacKenzie I think I would go to the turn of the twentieth century in Southern Africa and be a transport operator like Sir Percy Fitzpatrick... I think that would be a wonderful life... Fiction based on fact.
Ian MacKenzie I don't make lists. I randomly select books that give the impression of being a good read. I've just finished reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and am starting a documentary The Republic of Gupta by Peter-Louis Myberg. I will also be completing the manuscript for my new release and sequel to Clouds In The Wind.... For Whom The Wind Blows. That should be out by September.
Ian MacKenzie Where did the last 35 years of my life go?

Ian MacKenzie I make my books a dream that keeps me interested in the unfolding story. I live my dreams through my writing. Inspiration like that comes from within.

Ian MacKenzie Be sure that you research your subject carefully and frequently ask for constructive criticism. Too many writers get it into their heads that they have written a best seller, when in reality they have only satisfied their own ego. Writing requires the ability to create a "theater of the mind". Readers need to be shown your story, not told. Never edit your own work and listen to your critics. It's in your own interests to know when you are being a bore.
Ian MacKenzie My writing, although fiction, is based on factual events in my life. My ideas come from personal experience.
Ian MacKenzie Hi Hamada.
I claim no credit for the books shown under my name on Good Reads. The only one written by me is Clouds In The Wind which is a novel... The others are all written by another Ian Mackenzie who I have never met and know nothing about... I have brought this to the attention of Goodreads Admin, but they don't seem to want to do anything about separating me from books that I did not write.... I hope this answers your question.
Ian MacKenzie It's a great way of being able to speak your mind and live your fantasies without being interrupted... You can also "unsay" what you have said to put up a better argument after the fact.
Ian MacKenzie Writer's block is like a gate or an obstacle that gets in the way of progress. I go back three or four chapters and change my direction slightly. That tends to get me through it.
