Jordan Castillo Price Hi, I'm so glad you're enjoying the series! PsyCop 15 is currently in the works.
Jordan Castillo Price That’s a cool idea! It sounds like it would be good for a website. My only concern is that everything on it would be a spoiler, so I’d have to balance that concern with what I put in the glossary. Or just stick a huge disclaimer on top. What would you envision on it, mainly minor characters and specific terms like Ganzfeld Report, FPMP, etc?
Jordan Castillo Price I love your character-look choices! I’ll definitely need to check out Damiano David’s band. He’s got the Crash vibe for sure. I probably hear and feel the characters more than see them when I write. The cover models have become the go-to visuals for me.
Jordan Castillo Price The individual collections of The ABCs of Spellcraft are as deep as they’re going to be “collected” at this point in time. Scheduling conflicts have the audio production of the fourth collection on hold. The next PsyCop novel is currently in the works. Newsletters are still coming out, I try to remember to post a link to them on Goodreads when they do. Sometimes people get bumped off the list if their email bounces or something, so you could try signing up again at http://psycop.com/newsletter.html - hope that helps!
Jordan Castillo Price I love the thought of seeing Vic and Jacob on a bingeable show, and I think a series would be much better than a movie. HBO would be my dream channel since I think they’re the original spot for well made episodic TV, but I’m watching Fargo now (which seems very PsyCopish in a lot of ways) and that’s by FX. I think any of them would do a great job, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.
Jordan Castillo Price I really appreciate you requesting the book and I love it when my work is available through a public library, as I worked at one for 10 years. Unfortunately, to prep the book for Kindle Unlimited I had to remove its availability from Overdrive. So a library would’ve had to purchase it within the first month after release while it was still available wide. I wish exclusivity wasn’t a requirement for KU inclusion, I think the audiences are completely different. I may take the PsyCop series out of KU at some point so it can be available wide again, but I don’t have current plans. Sorry about that.
Jordan Castillo Price I’m so glad you’re enjoying PsyCop and that Crash has captured your imagination enough to have you wondering about what’s happening with him off page. Jacob was definitely as upset about the demise of the relationship as Crash. Good thing he’s met Vic, who is understanding about his priorities in a way Crash could never be.
Jordan Castillo Price Hi Cassandra, I’m so glad to hear you’re eager for the next PsyCop! I generally write 1 PsyCop novel every year. In 2021 there will be a bonus collection of novelettes and shorts that will slide in just under the wire before the end of December if all goes well. PsyCop 13 is still percolating. It should be out mid-2022.
Jordan Castillo Price Thanks for hooking your friend!!! It's not permanent, it's just Amazon running out of stock. I see that currently everyone who's offering it is a third-party vendor who's marked it up a few bucks. But the paperbacks are slow selling items and Amazon is unlikely to replenish their stock until they see some being ordered.

Here's the Amazon paperback page: https://www.amazon.com/Ghostv-Psycop-...

And here's another option, Barnes & Noble, without the markup. I'm not sure how much you have to order there to get the free shipping, but if your friend only reads paperback, I'm sure she'll find something to fill her cart! https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/ghos...

Thanks for asking!
Jordan Castillo Price I'm glad! Usually I just hear from people who are disappointed in what I'm doing. Yes indeed, they'll be at Smashwords and all the usual places.
Jordan Castillo Price I love that you're requesting PsyCop through your library! (I worked at a public library for 10 years and I'm big into libraries.)

I figured the system was just being pokey but when I looked, I saw I had a box unchecked at my distributor. So I rectified that, and hopefully Other Half will be available soon. I'll double check and see if it's there in a week, and follow up with you.

Thanks so much for alerting me to this.
Jordan Castillo Price It's a great question! When I was a teenager I read Seth Speaks and Messages from Michael, which are both channelled books. I think some of my ideas are inspired by the Michael books. But looking now at the website, I think that's just where my notion came from that an astral plane exists (and that maybe there are multiple non-physical planes) but the rest I am imagining as I write.

In other words, I've consumed so much metaphysical input through the years that concepts like "white light" just feel logical to me and I'm not really sure if there is a direct source.

Have fun on your tarot journey!
Jordan Castillo Price Your view of Vic sounds like the way he perceives himself, and the way I perceive him when I'm writing from his headspace. I think everyone is the center of their own universe in a way. But Vic is that way in particular, so Crash or Jacob wouldn't get all his motivations 100% right. Vic is hard to read (and he does that blank facial expression a lot as a defense mechanism) but we get the secret view of his inner monologue so we know him probably better than he knows himself.
Jordan Castillo Price Great question! I am planning on putting my ABCs of Spellcraft series into KU March 1 to see how that goes.

Let me dig up the announcement I made a couple weeks ago in my January newsletter for everyone who didn't see it...ah, here it is:

Short version: I will be putting The ABCs of Spellcraft series into Kindle Unlimited (KU) March 1. There are no current plans to place PsyCop there because exclusivity would be hard to swing.

Long version: Kindle Unlimited is an Amazon subscription-based service that allows subscribers to read an unlimited amount of books for a set monthly price. I love that idea. I use KU myself and especially like trying out new-to-me authors that way. But in order to enroll my books, I would have to make them exclusive to Amazon. That’s the rule.

I’m one of the old-timers whose ebooks predate Kindle Unlimited (Among the Living was first published in 2006 and the Kindle device itself didn’t come out until late 2009), and so by the time KU came around in 2014, my books were already up for sale at various online retailers and in public libraries. Since a portion of my readership preferred to shop at stores other than Amazon, I didn’t want to make it difficult for them to follow a series they’d been following for years.

Money is tight these days, though, and so I decided to see if a newer series that was less entrenched at other retailers might be a good fit for KU. Crunching my numbers, I found that only 10% of Spellcraft customers purchased somewhere other than Amazon. And only 6 libraries are carrying the ebooks. So I think I would be serving a larger number of readers by making The ABCs of Spellcraft available in Kindle Unlimited.

Note, you do not need to subscribe to KU to buy the stories from Amazon like normal. They just will no longer be available at other retailers, and you will have the option to read them free with a KU subscription.

I’ll move Spellcraft to KU March 1, 2021. So if you prefer to purchase elsewhere, now’s the time. And if you already subscribe to KU and you’re looking for a cute, lighthearted paranormal romp, clear your reading calendar and get ready.

If you’d like news specifically about my KU titles, update your JCP News newsletter subscription to include “KU Corner.”

Jordan Castillo Price It has been quite the year, hasn't it? I will sing the release date from the rooftops when I have settled on it! Right now #12 has just started edits.
Jordan Castillo Price Hi Lily, your assessment of the way alcohol affects Vic's psychic ability is spot-on. Alcohol stops him from over-thinking things enough to trust what his sixth sense is telling him.

If all goes well, book 12 will be out by the end of the year.
Jordan Castillo Price Hi Cynthia, so sorry I missed your question. I'm considering doing an overhaul of the whole Channeling Morpheus series because the covers no longer fit the genre, and while I was in there tinkering with it, I would love to put the rest of it in audio. Definitely would hit up Gomez Pugh for that project!
Jordan Castillo Price Hi Jessi, Murder House is the last PsyCop that's come out, but PsyCop 11 is in the works and the PsyCop series is ongoing. Thanks for asking!
