Monte L. Pearson I am getting close to publishing a history about the rise and fall of the U.S. middle class and how that led to Donald Trump's victory. It is the story of how the Democratic Party helped create it in the 1930s and 1940s and how it stopped helping the middle class in the 1990s. Lots of things about Bill Clinton in the 1990s and Obama when he was president. The title is: "The Roots of Defeat: the Clinton's, Obama, and the Decline of the Democrats."
Monte L. Pearson I close my eyes and try to write what comes into my head. It won't have good grammar etc. but it gets you moving through the block and into the ideas bubbling in your brain. Too many people think every sentence should come out like the Encyclopedia Britannica, but you should always expect to do a second and third draft - so the first draft should only be ideas, little form. Think idea blow-out. With all of the editing tools you have on a computer there should be no hesitation to write whatever flows out of your fingers.

Another idea is to write complete thoughts, not individual words. That is, concentrate on your idea/thought rather than on each word that makes up the idea/thought. Writing one word at a time is as deadly as reading one word at a time.
