R. Gunn See above: Write, Write, Write. Even if it's crap and gibberish, you've got something down and you can come back and repair it later. Nothing is worse than a blank page.
R. Gunn Having people love the stories that you love the tell....
R. Gunn Read read read, write write write. That's the best advice I can give. I really don't think you CAN be a writer without being a reader first.

Oh yeah, and persistence, not to mention hard headedness.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

Not that I think I'm solving any earth shattering problems with my little books, but I don't think truer words have ever been said on the subject of perseverance..
R. Gunn Book II in the Florida BEAST Chronicles, "Law of the BEAST." I think I'm loving this story even better than BEAST Mercenary and I'm hoping my fans will as well. I know it sounds crazy, but there's no other way I can describe it. It's like the characters literally speak to me and tell me how their stories are supposed to go.

I will say, though, that I also get some of my inspiration from everyday life. From things I've heard friends, and even strangers, say that struck me as a great line for one of my characters. So you never know, I may have been inspired by you :-)
R. Gunn I accidentally stumbled upon the Paranormal Romance genre about eight years ago and couldn't believe I'd never before heard of or read these types of stories. Needless to say, I was immediately smitten and began BEAST Mercenary shortly thereafter. I'm sure she doesn't know this, but I'm a HUGE fan of J.R. Ward. Her Black Dagger Brotherhood and Fallen Angels series were some of my first inspirations.

After a few agent and publishing house rejections, it languished on my computer for several years until a longtime friend nagged me (thanks Kristin!) into making another attempt. I decided to skip the middle-man this time and go the self-publish route, and here we are
