Goodreads asked R. Gunn:

How do you get inspired to write?

R. Gunn There's nothing like just sitting down and writing. If I waited until "inspiration" struck, I'd never get anything done. I find that the more I write, the easier it flows, and it seems like-after a time- the story lines simply flow into me from some other world out there. I know it sounds crazy, but there's no other way I can describe it. It's like the characters literally speak to me and tell me how their stories are supposed to go.

I will say, though, that I also get some of my inspiration from everyday life. From things I've heard friends, and even strangers, say that struck me as a great line for one of my characters. So you never know, I may have been inspired by you :-)
